Imagine you don't have to bring your credit cards to make payment, no key to access to your home, no more clipper card to use Bart. Key was the product with the intention to digitalized all identifications.

What I did

-I was the founder

-Established the team who work remotely from Vietnam

-Design hardware and software experience.

THE BEGINNING

In 2013, after 10+ years away from my grandmother, I finally able to move to the States and reunite with her. It was shocking to see her living condition. She lived alone and incapable of taking care of herself. From what I was told, she had two strokes in the past and her brain got damaged. She has had memory loss and all her muscles were no longer as strong as before. I thought how can create a device that is so small and allow family members to keep track of her health condition and make life easier for her too.

This was before the Apple Watch or Apple Pay, I had the vision to create a device that is small enough to be able to connect to the internet for remote data access. So I flew to Vietnam and get people to connect me with talented hardware engineers to work on this project with me.

I worked with the team to build prototypes, invested most of my savings. Since I worked with a hardware company( Misfit. Acquired by Fossil Group) before, I am confident about what we were doing. After one year we got the very first prototype.

In 2015, I was approached by a company called Motiv who's developing a similar product. Motiv was looking for someone who can lead their design team. The CEO at the time told me about his team, he got people from Nasa, Apple and IDEO that's working on this project, he said that his advisor was John Madea (an idol of mine).

I went back to my team and told my co-founder about Motiv. With no hesitation, he did not stop me from joining Motiv. He said that this was a good opportunity and I should take it.

As a result, I joined Motiv and this is what I did:

-Lead Product and Design team

-Design mobile app experience

-Lead in user research and testing

-Work with VP of Product to review the industrial design

-Collaborate with an external agency(Cinco) on logo, website, packaging design.
